How Trenchless Sewer Pipe Repair Works
In traditional pipe replacement scenarios, the ground spanning the length of the pipe must be excavated and cleared in order to make the space necessary to cut and remove the pieces of old piping. This does significant damage to your yard by essentially forcing you to dig up almost all of it just to remove one length of piping. In contrast, trenchless sewer repair allows you to keep most of your yard intact, as there is far less digging involved using our method. At Honest Plumbing & Rooter, we make two small holes in your yard, a few feet in diameter, essentially creating an entrance and exit point in order to repair the pipe in question. That’s right – using our method, you actually don’t need to replace the old piping at all! Instead, we’re able to actually thread the new pipe through the old one using a process that we call “relining.” The lining of the pipe is very flexible, and the water is tight, which allows the water to move more freely through the damaged piping.
How Trenchless Sewer Pipe Replacement Works
If you feel wary about getting your pipes lined with our sewer pipe repair method, you can alternately choose to replace your pipes using a similar method. We still avoid digging up the entirety of your yard, though. By digging only two holes in your yard, we can avoid ripping everything up in order to expose the entire pipe length. With our pipe replacement, we are able to take a brand new pipe and actually push it through your old one. As the pipe is being replaced, it will take the place of the old sewer line, and it will also cause the older pipes to shatter as the new piping is installed. You’re able to have all new sewer lines—without destroying your landscaping. Our new pipes are made of newer materials, notably polyethylene pipes, which are not jointed. These will easily outlive your old pipes and will also not allow tree roots to grow into the pipes, in contrast to older piping styles. The new pipes will also allow greater flow through them, which will in turn increase the functionality of your entire system.
